Myriam McClellan
Principal
For more than 20 years, I have been blessed to serve in Catholic education, dedicating my career to forming students academically, spiritually, and morally. For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving as Principal of St. John Paul II Catholic School, where I continue to build upon the foundation of faith, excellence, and service. Having spent 14 years as a Catholic school educator at St. John Paul II, I have witnessed the life-changing impact that a faith-filled education has on children and their families.
To me, being a Catholic educator is more than a profession—it is a vocation and a ministry. It means seeing Christ in every child, leading with compassion and integrity, and helping students discover the unique gifts God has given them. Catholic education is about nurturing the whole child by integrating faith into every aspect of learning while fostering academic excellence, servant leadership, and a lifelong relationship with Christ. It is an honor to walk alongside our students, families, and staff as we work together to build a community rooted in faith, hope, and love.

I made an exciting career change from architecture to teaching last year, fulfilling a lifelong ambition to teach elementary education. Easily the best decision I've ever made! Helping students to become confident in reading is my favorite part of the job. I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs and have called Milwaukee home since moving here for college. I live on the east side with my husband and our pointer-labrador mix, who has become very popular with my students! My favorite color is green, and my hobbies include painting, baking and travelling to the UK and Ireland to visit family.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UW–Milwaukee, with minors in Science and Social Studies, along with a certification in Early Childhood Education. My favorite part of teaching is building relationships with students, making learning fun, and watching those exciting “a-ha!” moments happen. Outside of school, I’m married to my husband Tim, and we have two daughters, Madelyn and Amelia. I love traveling, gardening, painting, tackling DIY home projects, and organizing just about anything! I’m also a huge animal lover and grew up with quite the collection of pets. I believe learning should be filled with curiosity, laughter, creativity, and the confidence to keep trying, even when things get challenging!
